Knowing loads of you enjoy some crochet on the side I thought you might have some fun with my little crochet gift to you this Halloween.

The pattern is one designed and published on my freelance design site in 2011 and has appeared on other yarn craft sites and here on the blog a few times since then.  It's proven to be a favourite.

The pumpkins can be strung together to make a garland or used separately as coasters.  If you like the idea but don't crochet, pop down to the bottom of the pattern page for some alternative options.

Wishing you loads of fun and please share your pics if you make them on my Instagram Kaleidoscope Wellbeing and Tarot with the tag #kaleidoscopetarotpumpkingarland

Autumn Leaves

Kaleidoscope Tarot - Japanese Maple
Beautiful fiery leaves on the Japanese Maple in our garden. Not sure how much longer the leaves will stay before being carried away by the wind.

One of the things I love about this time of year is wandering about the woods gathering all these treasures to bring into the home.

As much as I enjoy and appreciate the beautiful offerings of the other seasons, the treasures of Autumn are by far my favourite because of the colours and textures that they have.

Later on today i'll be getting up into the loft to bring out some of the decorations i've collected over the years to dot about the house.  I'm a few days late in doing this but my back has been too achy to make the trip up the loft ladder until now.  Our dog is not a fan of the straw woodland animals that will be making their annual appearance because of their tendency to move whenever he passes by - caused by the breeze from the wagging of his tail.  They startle him every time.

Raven's Prophecy Tarot by Maggie Stiefvater

The Tarot deck that I will be using for this October is The Raven’s Prophecy Tarot by Maggie Steifvater.  I spent an enjoyable hour before bed getting reacquainted with this wonderful and striking deck.

The tarot bag shown in the image was crocheted by me, specially for this deck.

The Forest of Dean in early Autumn 2018

A beautiful day walking in the Forest of Dean.

We only saw two of these red spotted toadstools the entire walk although there were plenty other fungi growing on logs and trees.

Mesmerising reflections on the water.

Tall and straight.  The trees from the Forest of Dean were grown and used to to supply masts for Tall Ships.

We came across lots of these little dwellings amongst the trees.

At the end of our walk we enjoyed a picnic lunch and finished it off with these lollies as a sweet treat.  The web lolly is liquorice flavoured and the spider lolly is peppermint flavoured.   You can buy them at Tiger.

Tea Time with EhrblΓΌh Tea

Photo © Kaleidoscope Tarot - Karen Wiederhold
After a bracing walk in the woods this afternoon, it was home again for an extra special cup of tea. This is EhrblΓΌh Tea and was a birthday gift from my cousin.

I'm still not sure how to describe the flavours of the tea but it's mostly light and refreshing.

I’m wondering if I’m about to kick off another tea craze like last year’s Buttermint obsession after my post last August.

The tea comes bound up in a tight little ball which you drop into boiled water and slowly but surely it begins to swell until it bursts open to reveal beautiful blooms.

Use them as coasters during the the Autumn months.

Join them in a vertical line, intermingled with wood, beads and anything else that's autumnal and hang in a window.

If you like the idea but don't crochet then why not replace the pumpkins with cutouts from felt, card stock or patterned paper and tie onto a length of ribbon.
