What a fun night we had at the Wassail in Frampton on Severn.
It was freezing cold, until the fire was lit and what a bonfire it was. Festivities got into full swing with with singing, a walk through the orchard by fire light and then lots of banging, shouting, shooting and fireworks to chase the spirits away and to wake up the trees.
The Green Man and his Wassail Queen led the procession into the orchard. The Wassail Queen hung toast in the trees and poured cider around the foot of an apple tree as a blessing.
We enjoyed cider and mulled cider from the previous year's harvest to warm up and celebrate.
